  • A world cafe is a fun discussion format that offers the opportunity to explore and deepen into various topics with the guidance of multiple facilitators. For this activity, there will be 5 tables in the room, each dedicated to dialogue about one of the five grassroots organizing strategies that scholars read about and watched for this section of the curriculum. At each table, scholars will meet a guest host (ideally Puksta alumni) who has been influenced by and/or whose civic engagement activities are representative of each organizing strategy. Each table host will guide discussion around the readings and videos students watched prior to the session with the goal to support students in understanding those resources and utilizing them to reflect on and develop/evolve their own organizing strategy (which they present to the group at the next virtual session). Table hosts will also take notes of the group conversation so that over the course of the three rounds each group can deepen and broaden the thinking of the group before, learning from and building upon one another.
